Cycling in Altmühltal
Get on the bike and enjoy unforgettable hours, away from the road and in a unique scenery: That is cycling in Altmühltal. One of the most known bike-tour you can enjoy at the “Altmühltal Radweg” Follow the natural meanders of Altmühl. You cycle along a moorland covered with juniper. While a small break you can discover silver thistle, lily grass and blue grass.
The trail always leads through the valley, between the edge of a forest and river, through Zimmern and Solnhofen to Esslingen. Here you cross the Altmühl and you leave the valley on the small side street towards Bieswang.
From the so-called “peace-oak” you go on to Mittelmarterhof and then downhill to Pappenheim. Here you can enjoy a substantial evening meal.
